Around Heber Springs

A little exploring.
A lot to come back to.

Waterfalls, trail mornings, a day at the lake, and the places we keep in our guest guide. Build a weekend that leaves time for the cabin, too.

Make a little room
for the outdoors.

Pick a trail for your group’s ability and the day’s conditions. A short outing still counts as an adventure.

01

A little waterfall time

Collins Creek

A short walk from Hatchery Road leads to the creek and cascades. This is one of the family-outing ideas in our guidebook. Bring comfortable shoes and leave time to linger.

02

A stop for the view

Bridal Veil Falls

Choose the overlook near the parking area or explore a trail if it suits your group. Waterfall flow depends on conditions; check access and footing before heading farther.

For a trail morning

Sugarloaf Mountain

The Heber Springs mountain has several trails and views over the surrounding area. The summit route is a more demanding choice. This is distinct from Sugar Loaf Mountain Island in Greers Ferry Lake.

A look back at the river

Mossy Bluff

A wooded trail near the William Carl Garner Visitor Center follows the bluff above the Little Red. It is a good option when your group wants a walk with a river-and-dam view.

Another kind of water day

Greers Ferry Lake

Make room for a lake outing alongside your river weekend. Plan a picnic, explore a recreation area, or arrange a boat rental with a local provider.

Check current park access, swimming conditions, and rental availability before leaving. Lake activities and rentals are arranged separately from your cabin stay.

Location & current details

Staying in? Pick up groceries for breakfast and something for the grill. The cabin kitchen has room for real cooking.

For the anglers in your group

Plan the access.
Then pack the fly box.

Launch at Lobo Landing or arrange a guide. For a wading plan, look into JFK or the Barnett / Swinging Bridge / Winkley area and assess current conditions before entering the water.

The cabin is not a casual bank- or dock-fishing setup. Wading directly in front of the cabin is generally unsuitable.
